On a calm Sunday morning the President of the United States declares martial law on a sleeping nation. The immediate civilian revolt is crushed and a new means of opposition to oppression takes root. The main body of the story occurs fourteen years after "the day of days" as bands of patriots using a Fabian strategy loosen the grip of both their domestic and foreign masters to reach a favorable tipping point in the struggle for freedom. -Is the human spirit undaunted by evil? -Will the spirit always strive for goodness, greatness and freedom? -Which is more powerful, the love of power or the power of love?
