She married a man against God's will, as they were unequally yoked with different family values, morals and beliefs. She cried out to God for her freedom from verbal abuse, confusion, control and unnecessary drama. The biggest mistake of her life brought her to a more intimate relationship with Christ. The focus of the book is not the people involved, but how God brought her out to help single women. OMG!! What a Mistake is an emotional and spiritual release to starting over after a bad relationship. Mica is transparent in sharing her story of ignoring the signs, so she could rush and get married before God's time and plan for her life. She encourages women to wait on Jesus to send their soul mate, to prevent them from going through some of the same experiences. During her divorce, she maintained her focus by wearing a pair of red shoes. God knew she had a love for fashion, so he got on her level, and informed her to wear a pair of red shoes to stay focused on him. The red shoes were her personal signature, as a reminder that she is covered by the blood of Jesus, walking in God's purpose across the Red Sea. She's reminded of the Lord, when she recites to herself: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV Version) So, ladies it's time to be the change we want to see in ourselves!
