In this Book, the exergy analysis of the 50MW coal based steam turbine cycle is presented. The turbine, which is installed at Korba Thermal Power Station, Korba East, C.G. is working on regenerative Rankine cycle. The exergy analysis of turbine and its component like- LPH-I, LPH-II, LPH-III, LPH-IV, Deaerator with FST, HPH-V, HPHVI, HPH-VII is done at 50MW unit load for both the condition design and working. The exergy lost in the turbine 12.21MW for present working condition compared to design condition 11.364MW. Another component which needs attention is High Pressure Heater-I where exergy lost is (1.516 MW) and Low Pressure Heater-IV where exergy lost is (1.189 MW). All other components also contribute toward the exergy destruction as compared to design value, which is tabulated in table-6.1 (exergy destroyed) and table-6.2 (second law efficiency). First and second law efficiency for described cycle also calculated.
