Mike Fratelli's life is about to change in a huge way. Placed on Earth to spy for the Alien Consortium to which he belongs, he now has to come out of the shadows and take an active role solving a crisis between his society and Earth. Farooq Amir, a mole planted in a space colony by religious extremists, kidnaps a non-human member of Fratelli's Alien Consortium while on a mining mission. The extremists' goal, bring the alien back to Earth and get him to proclaim Islam as the only legitimate religion while also getting the inside track to relations with the Consortium. Instead, kidnapping the alien has put Earth on the brink of war with the first alien organization to open relations with Earth. Bringing the alien to Earth also risks the release pathogens from the Consortium that would decimate the human population. Fratelli, along with help from new friends at the UN, must now rescue the hostage and keep the nations of Earth from turning on his people and each other. With humans involved, what could possibly go wrong? The setting for this book is around the year 2070 when humans from Earth are broadly increasing their presence off planet in the Solar System. An expansion driven mostly by the private sector which is less dependent on the government to make things happen.
