Reseña del libro "Swallow's Law: Miranda Swallow (en Inglés)"
Miranda Swallow is the daughter of Richard and Alison Swallow. Richard is a clergyman and Alison is a housewife. Miranda was educated at Chester City High School for Girls and Oxford University where she obtained a first class honours degree in law. She is 21 years old and has just joined the Cheshire Constabulary as a probationary police officer. She lives with her parents in the suburb of Vicars Cross (appropriately enough) but she is looking for accommodation of her own. Unfortunately for Miranda, her university degree does little to impress the 'old boys network' of the 1960's and Miranda finds that, being a woman in a "man's" world, she has to prove herself twice as much as her male colleagues and the ladder of promotion is a slippery one indeed. Miranda is often seen driving around the town in her bright red Mini 1000. Miranda finds an unlikely ally in the old-fashioned Detective Sergeant Harry Lister. Harry is a seasoned detective and an 'old-school' officer but when Miranda's chances of promotion seem to be dashed Harry gives his support. Harry is a loner and has two budgerigars for company. He likes wildlife and classical music.
