This is a short history of the United States in the time of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Mike Donovan is a stand-up comedian and free-lance writer who has written 26 history books. You can browse, or read it front to back. - Much of the book is about the Vietnam War and the author is largely of the revisionist school that feels that the war might have been won if Johnson had tried to play offense instead of only defense. "We were never allowed to cross the 50-yard line," is how one veteran of the war put it. Without a plan to win the war, it was, in the words of Clifford, "a real loser." But did it have to be? - One penny out of every other sale goes to the Hangover Research Institute, located in the Bowery.
