This an allegory or roman à clef about the Syrian War that fictionalizes a family and its relationship to Assad, and the true story about the causation and promulgation of the war indirectly by Western and Middle Eastern powers' proxy armies. This war was agitated by rogue elements of the CIA/Black Water mercenaries used to further US Middle Eastern policy of "regime change". However, the US didn't get its way due in large part to Russia and China's veto power at the UN Security Council that the US used as a rubber stamp to further their "no fly zone" agenda to weaken target regimes to defeat them. The result thus far is the creation of the largest humanitarian crisis to hit the Middle East and Europe, since WWII.
