This is a fiction on an entangled relationship between a Chinese scholar Ming who lives in New York and his German-American ex-wife Ingrid in New Jersey. Ming went to America to seek higher education. Then he met Ingrid and they fell in love with each other. The differences in culture and tradition have evolved and kept the couple going in circles of repeated separation, reunion, and divorce. The stories were partly inspired by the writer's own real-life personal experience in the West.
